On the Robinson Crusoe Archipelago, the cuisine revolves around seafood. Fish and shellfish are at the heart of what this area offers.
There are a number of places in the town of San Juan Bautista where you can enjoy delicious lobster or superb fish, but there is probably nothing more classic than eating aboard a fishing boat.
The boats, known as chalupas, have small stoves so tourists can catch fish and cook them right away. It would be hard to find a meal fresher than that.
Recommendations: If you want to eat lobster at one of the island’s restaurants, we suggest you first check availability. To buy a lobster, head to the San Juan Bautista dock at sunset.
