Flying is the quickest and easiest way of getting to Robinson Crusoe Island. Commercial flights are available from the Arturo Merino Benítez and Tobalaba airports and the Torquemada aerodrome in Viña del Mar.
The light aircraft used for the flight can hold 8 to 10 people, and there is a 10-kg (22 lb) baggage allowance per passenger.
The flight from the Tobalaba airport to the island takes around 2.5 hours. Flights land on the 1,000-meter airstrip at the Robinson Crusoe aerodrome. After landing, passengers are transferred by boat from Bahía del Padre to the town of San Juan Bautista, which takes about 1.25 hours.
